Dr. Charles W. Flume, D.D.S.
A Respected Team "In creating this state-of-the-art facility, I knew that not only was it going to be something spectacular, but the people who actually helped to make it run would be pretty darn special, too. In a way, I wanted the building to reflect those character traits I find so admirable in my coworkers. From the receptionist's warm inviting smile to the hygienists' and assistants' nimble and gentle touch with patients to my own eagerness to share knowledge with the patients. To teach them, not just treat them. I think all these characteristics--warmth, gentleness, sharing, compassion--can be felt the minute you walk in the door."
A Remarkable Experience "My wife might not appreciate this, but sometimes I feel more at home here then I do in my own den. It just has that effect on me. More importantly, I've watched the look on people's faces as they walk through the door and notice a distinct change. It's almost as if they're able to shrug off the stresses of the day and finally relax. Is it the spaciousness they feel with the sky-high ceilings? Is it the cozy feel of the fireplace? Is it the tasty refreshments? I'm not quite sure. But I do know that before they leave, many of them make it a point to tell me they've never known anything like this--even after extensive dental work! And this is what's gratifying to me. Knowing that somehow this just wasn't about dental work or a cleaning. It's about a life experience. "
A Reason to Come Back "Perhaps one of the biggest thrills I get is when some of the patients remind me not to forget about our next appointment. And mind you, these are patients who oftentimes had to be enticed just to walk in the door! That's when you know you're doing something right. I honestly believe that every person who comes to us thinks they're the most important person here. Maybe that's because we think they are, too."

Philosophy of Care I believe in caring for my patients as if they were members of my family. I want them to have the same quality of care that I would expect for myself or a member of my family; this is why I stay current with the latest materials, technologies and treatments that dental medicine has to offer.
Personal Interests I enjoy spending time with my wife and family. My wife Pam and I have five children between us, ranging in age from sixteen to twenty-seven. I also enjoy gourmet cooking, boating, scuba, and reading. |
